Des did all the replacement of rusted metal. The bottom edge of this door from WY was used to repair the original door.
This is the door with the metal replaced/swapped.
Des repaired metal on both rear doors, both side doors, the rear sill, the rear quarter panels, interior rear sidewalls, exterior side sills, rear fenders, and rear fender wells. He does beautiful work (and the Internet stock boom paid for it).
The lower cowls on both sides (interior and exterior) needed a lot of work.
The rear sill was replaced with a beautiful used sill from WY (Hemmings Motor News).
The lower rear quarters were made from flat sheet - Des is an artist and a master.
A closer look at the rear quarter (the inside was pretty too - matching the arrangement and appearance of the original metal).
This is not a very clear photo of the bottom of the rear seal and the quarter panel.
There was rot on both sides where the wheel wells matched up with the inner body. All original contours were matched in the Des-made patch panels.
A closer look at the left interior sidewall. The clean metal is a replacement panel made by Des.
The right side interior repair/replacement panel.
This shows metal replaced in one of the rear wheelwells. Both sides needed repairs here (and the fenders needed repairs on the matching edges).
Left front floorboard - as good as new.
The front floorboard was rotted away on both sides and up the cowl edges. Des matched the location/type of factory welds (as shown in the Factory Assembly Manual).
This shows another angle of the front floorboard. The original interior paint color was Pulsar Gray.
